"I've got the magic stick..."
Motorbikes are fun and thrilling. The very fact that you feel the wind in your face and the adrenaline of turning round bends and going at about 120km/h on straight roads (this is just the average) is just, like mind-blowing. Like really really awesome. Yeah, awezzum. But of course, every mutha-effing thing that is awesome around in this world just has to have a BUT OF COURSE, of course. Riding IS dangerous. Riding IS sometimes dangerous. Riding IS dangerous when you dont ride carefully. Riding IS dangerous EVEN if you ride carefully. Therefore, in conclusion, riding IS dangerous. Before i got my license, people tell me that every rider sure will fall off the bike, "touch the road", "kiss the road" etc etc. In other words, you will surely, have a minor accident (at least) during your riding times. I brushed it off thinking that its an excuse made up by people who have fall off their bikes or met with an accident. Many people think the same like me. BUT OF COURSE until the day that i experienced a mini self-mistake accident, i realised that its kinda true. Those mini accidents teaches us more about our ride and gives us "experience points". Fortunately for me, i had to learn it the mini way. Thank god. Some riders had to learn it the more painful and worst-case-scenario (WCS) way and never get to ride at all after that. If you know what i mean. back to my topic, i'm blogging this because in the past 2 days, Wednesday and Thursday i ALMOST met with an accident, the WCS way. It was crazy. Really adrenaline crazy crazy. On wed, at a cross junction (picture this), i wanted to turn right so i waited and saw that the opposite on coming lane was clear except a for a bus, which was approaching the junction. thing about junctions is that when there's a green arrow it means that you can turn as the opposite oncoming lane is seeing red. But the traffic i saw was just green without any arrow. I FORGOT that the opposite was ALSO GREEN. So i rode on to turn. half way, i realised that "Shit, i turned and the other side is also green!". I saw the bus approaching, so i lowered gear and zoomed across the junction. I'm not sure if the bus honked at me, casue i was listening to Jack Johnson's People Watching. Guess, should be one doing the watching around there. This goes to show that a split second moment of forgetfulness can lead to grave consequences. I'm lucky to be safe and sound. I wouldn't want to be ending up in a hospital the day i ORD. Holy shiete NO. Yesterday as i was coming back from class at someplace you dont have to know or ask, Impulse was riding with me. We ended the class together. So at a T-Junction i "see" that its pretty clear to move on and turn right (i dont know why its always the turning right moments). So i did. As i turned, a car approaching FAST came towards my direction. I dont really know what went into my mind but i was listening to 50 Cent's Magic Stick and just like magic, instead of stopping as most kanchiong new riders would do, i picked up speed, and avoided the car. Yes, it honked at me. And just before my bike mounted the curb on the opposite lane, i turned safely. No abrupt turns or anything. It was just nice. I averted a holy-shiete-close accident at 0100H. I swear if i had stopped on the spot, i wouldnt be here blogging to you. You would proabably have to come down to the hospital to hear the story from me. Why i said "I dont really know what went into my mind..." was because at that moment when the car was a good 10m away from my precious bike and right leg, i looked at the car, smiled, nod my head to the Magic Stick beat and sang "I've got the magic stick..." to myself. Its crazy. Impulse was like "WTF?! WTF?! I dont wanna people to bathe me yet. I'm not ready!". I laughed and said that i was sorry. This goes to show that a split second moment of misjudgement can lead to grave consequences. I'm lucky to be safe and sound. I wouldn't want to be ending up in a hospital one day after i ORD. Holy shiete NO. ~~~ I'm headed to town today. Its just too gawd damn boring sitting at home with no work. Prolly meeting up with a few hommies to catch up on life. Life's too short to waste it just like that. Take care and good day to all of you out there. And remember, RIDE FUCHING SAFELY! |
