"I've been watching but the stars refuse to shine"

Woke up to an early morning at 0600H. Looking around the bunk, i realised that, like me, many others were still wrapped in their blankets. Still in their deep slumber from yesterday's hectic nights off. Only a few of us stayed back in camp to relish on the western delights at the cook house. We didnt know really. Its luck they say. You'll get it when you never expect it. You see, I had always been wanting to eat the western food cause everyday it had always been chicken, fish, meat and rice AND green veggies. Maybe on a good day, we'll get spaghettis and fried chicken.

Anyways, the 7 of us had a buffet kinda meal. Free flow of drink, friend chicken cutlets and potato wedges and campbell mushroom soup too. We ate and ate and ate. before this, we had wanted to go to gym after dinner. But like snakes, we were bloated. I swear i couldnt see my pecs and had difficulty walking. Haha. That bad. But cant blame me right? The food was good, the crowd was great. Making it one of the best meal times in Tekong. All the time to ourselves.

Sheesh, i've drifted so far away from my topic. Ok, so basically, i woke up at 0600H or better known as 6am to civilians, just to go for this cohesion thingy. Supposedly, a MASS AEROBIC exercise. Gay. Reminded me of ACES day back in primary school. Heck, ACES day had been so bad that even the people up there canned it. And now, the army?! And all this, so as to celebrate Chinese New Year. The moves were stupid, the music sucked and seriously, not everyone was participating. I asked myself at that particular point of time: "I woke up at 6 for this?! Damnnn...".

If doing something that you deemed stupid was already stupid enough and it didnt help me that my OC was pestering me to "DO la! DO!" and also, "How come you not doing?!" whenever i stopped for a moment or two to catch my breathe from that horrigible morning exercise. Thanks sir!

The worst was yet to come. You see, at first i thought that doings "ACES" day workout was a good deal as compared to running. But i was wrong as they made us run 4.8km too. *Sobs* *Sobs* Already i hate running and they are making me do it. And I stayed back in camp to exercise?! You must be kidding me! Personally, i hated running. It makes you fit, yes. But it also makes lean people like me, skinny. And boy! do i hate being "labeled" skinny. But lan lan we had to run and so i did. Ran with 2 of my mates. Finished 2nd last. How bout that?!

Later on we had this CNY celebration thingy at the cook house an they had the tossing of the smelly and sticky thingy which tasted awful (i tried!). So we had to say Yu Sheng or something and i tossed the thing high high and using chopsticks, tossed it towards my friend. Funny thing is that after the whole hoo-hah tossing shiit, i realized one of my chopsticks broke. Haha. We were laughing hysterically and at the same time, my friend who's picking up the yu sheng or whatever you call it, picked up the other half of my broken chopstick. He was like, "Hey! What the hell?! Got chopstick." And we all burst out laughing once again.

Ok, ok. So i know they all say that its a sign of bad luck here and there but seriously, i dont believe in the culture. Its just old folk's saying. Probably to prevent people from tossing aggressively (like me) and end up making people nearly eat the chopstick. And another reason why i dont quite think its true, cause, i won 11th prize in the CNY lucky draw. Got some Portable BBQ stove. Big and heavily light. Can be used for the next outfield i suppose....

Well, whatever it is, HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR to all my Cina/Manjen/Chinese friends. May you strike 4D/TOTO/Horse Racing and win at Gambling too! And remember, DON'T DRINK AND DRIVE. YOU'LL JUST SPILL YOUR DRINK.
